Jamboree On The Air (JOTA) And Jamboree On The Internet (JOTI)

This international event happens every year, on the third full weekend in October. This year it's on 17-19 October.

You'll notice that Friday is included - that's because the event begins at midnight LOCAL time Friday, and ends at midnight LOCAL time Sunday.  So fairly early on Friday evening you will already have the Kiwis on air/online so you wouldnt want to miss the opportunity to catch them would you?

 Most general information about JOTA-JOTI is on the Scouts Australia website .  Our local website will only give information that applies to Western Australia.

Our Aim For 2008:

 We want to see several JOTI and at least one JOTA activity in every District.  We are happy to support Districts to achieve this,   however you will need to commit to the activity and plan well ahead.  Where you can't find Amateur Radio Operators to support your activity, contact BC Communications & Technology and we'll give you ever assistance possible to find an operator.

The Amateur Radio Community is very supportive of Scouts and we really need to involve them in our activities.
