For information about JOTA and JOTI, visit www.scouts.com.au - this site will be updated regularly between now and JOTA-JOTI, so you need to check it a few times.

I will try to visit as many Groups as possible, so please tell me about your activity BEFORE the JOTA-JOTI weekend, so I can plan the route.

These are the things to think about now:

• Venue – finding a suitable venue. An Internet connection is essential for JOTI and very useful for JOTA
• Include it in Programmes. If you are running it as a Group activity, then every Section leader in your group will need to factor it into their programme. In fact, it can fill some programmes for a few weeks so the Scouts can learn the skills of talking “on air”, asking others about themselves, being able to answer questions about themselves
• Do you have an Amateur Radio Operator at your disposal? Contact me if you need help locating someone, but do it sooner rather than later
• Look through your section’s award scheme – what can a Scout do during JOTA-JOTI to earn a badge apart from the JOTA-JOTI participation badge?
