WASPA – WA Scouts Performing Arts

Performing Arts LogoPerforming Arts is one of the many activity areas that provide programmes to enhance Scouting, attract youth members, adult members and supporters, and provide access to the Performing Arts sections of the award schemes.

Branch Revue

Our premier performing arts event of 2009 will be the Branch Revue, a glamorous theatre variety show to be presented in the July school holidays. Participants are welcome in all areas including: Singing, Dance, Acting, Backstage, Wardrobe, Technical, Marketing, Administration and Front of House at Theatre.

With an expected cast of 50, this Revue will build on the success of 2008, and be an exciting full theatre experience for the participants. We welcome ages 6 upwards, and in scouting spirit, all who audition will are automatically accepted.

Skit Nites

Skit Nites are an exciting way for groups to incorporate performing arts into their program with minimal effort. A dedicated team organise visits to groups at all levels to provide an evening of drama, theatre sports and costuming, allow the youth members to provide a presentation of their achievements, and sign off the appropriate badgework.

Ongoing Programmes

Ongoing training and performing opportunities are continuing, and developing in the following areas:-

Small Instrumental Groups, Technical Workshops, Face-Painting, Small Event Performances, and other activities to support at group, section and branch levels.
